First Aid Level 1 & 2 Course: 29 June 2019

This intermediate training course covers the essentials of First Aid in more detail. The extra theoretical and practical training enables students to improve their care of an injured person as well as cover topics that are not covered fully in Level 1.
This course covers – Adult and Child CPR and Choking, Emergency scene management and safety, Wounds, Bleeding, Burns, Shock, Vital signs, Unconsciousness, Fainting, Fractures, Bandaging, Splinting, Head and Spinal Injuries, Impaled objects, Head to toe, Vital signs, Electrocution, Patient history, Basic bites and stings, Poisonings, Two person Adult and Child CPR, Infant CPR, Multiple injury management, Drowning, Asthma, Heart attacks and chest pain, Epilepsy, Strokes, Seizures, Temperature emergencies, Rescue carries, Snake bites, Problem solving scenarios, Chest Injuries and Cardio-Pulmonary system.
What you receive – A South African Level 1 and 2 manual, a Department of labour accredited First Aid certificate that is Valid for 3 years, HPCSA CPD certificate: 30 points (26 CEUs + 4 ethics points), 2500 Discovery Vitality points.
First Aid Course preparation:
It is imperative that the candidates prepare well for this examination.
The course manual will be forwarded to those candidates who pay and attend the Course. Candidates must take note of the following:
– They need to study the contents of the manual thoroughly in preparation for the course;
– The duration of the course is at least 6 hours, subject to the number of questions received from the candidates;
– The course includes a written and practical assessment;
– Candidates must achieve at least 80% to pass the assessment;
– Certification and credits are registered at HWSETA.
What to bring: notebook and pen.
The course will start at 08h00 sharp – registration, tea and coffee from 07h30.
Tea, coffee, refreshments and snacks will be provided. Should you have any special dietary requirements, please bring whatever you need.
Cost is R1 200 per person and must be paid in full in advance of the course to secure you place. All profits made from the course will be donated to the #SupportSATalent Fund – to assist athletes selected to represent the National Team or UCI/ Federation events.
